BY CAR:
From the NJ Turnpike
Take the New Jersey Turnpike (Route #95) to Exit #9 (New Brunswick/Rutgers - The State University). After the toll, stay to right and take Route #18 North (toward New Brunswick). Stay on Route #18 North through one traffic light. After that light get into the far right lane. Take the next exit to George Street/Route #172 to your right (signs are very difficult to see because of the trees - it is BEFORE the overpass). As you exit, stay in the right lane. Just before you reach the traffic light, there will be an All Turns sign on your right - take that turn. Follow this to your right - Levin Theater will be straight ahead of you. Parking is available to your left. Walk toward Levin Theater. Just past Levin turn Left and proceed straight ahead to New Theater (turn before you get to the Box Office).
From Route 1
Exit for Route 18 North and follow directions above.
From 18 South
Go past Downtown New Brunswick on 18 South. Take the Commercial Avenue Exit to your right. Go up the hill to the first stop light. This is George Street. Turn left on to George Street and follow road through one light. After the first light the road will curve to the left. Just before the next light there is a turn on the right which allows you to jug-handle across George Street. Levin Theater will be straight ahead of you. Parking is available to your left. Walk toward Levin Theater. Just past Levin turn Left and proceed straight ahead to New Theater (turn before you get to the Box Office).
MASS TRANSIT OPTIONS:
By Train
From Penn Station in New York City (33rd & 7th) take NJ Transit Northeast Corridor Line to NEW BRUNSWICK. The taxi stand is right in front of the train station exit. Ask the driver to take you to the Mason Gross Performing Arts Center on the Douglass Campus. (Try Nicholas Music Center or Levin Theater if they seem lost) The cost of the taxi is approximately $5. Please allow time for the cab ride, as cabs are not as plentiful as in NYC. They also sometimes take several riders to various destinations.
By Bus
Take the Suburban Transit Line from Port Authority, NYC (42nd Street Station) to NEW BRUNSWICK. Take the bus to Albany Street Station (this is also the train station) and catch a cab from the station to the Mason Gross Performing Arts Center (Try Nicholas Music Center or Levin Theater if they seem lost) (see above).
If you want to walk, ask the driver to drop you off at the Commercial Avenue stop (wait until the driver has paid the Turnpike toll to ask). The bus will stop at Route 18 and Commercial Avenue. You will need to walk across Route 18 and up Commercial Avenue to the 1st traffic light and you will make a left and walk until you get to the next traffic light. (Student center is across the street on the corner). Make a left and walk toward the chapel. At the chapel, bear right toward the covered bridge (there are two bridges - take your pick). Once you are over the bridge the New Theater is to your right.
