NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS TO RUTGERS UNIVERSITY FOR 2000 FALL TERM

Newly admitted undergraduate students who wish to take summer courses are asked to consult with the academic dean of the college to which they have been admitted.

Newly admitted graduate students who wish to take summer courses are asked to consult with their academic dean or advisor.

Undergraduate applicants who have applied for admission, but have not yet been formally admitted to the university register as students having no academic affiliation (see "All Other Applicants," below).

STUDENTS SEEKING READMISSION

Students seeking readmission to the university who wish to take summer courses are asked to contact the academic dean of their college for procedures.

STUDENTS FROM OTHER INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING AND STUDENTS WITH NO ACADEMIC AFFILIATION

Attendance during a summer session does not offer assurance of admission to the university for the regular academic year. New students seeking degrees in divisions of the university which admit new degree candidates during a summer session must make separate application through the appropriate admissions office well in advance of seeking admission to the Summer Session.

Students applying for undergraduate courses are advised to seek approval from an academic officer at their institution for transfer of credits. Transcripts or letters of approval are not required for registration.

Visiting Students with a baccalaureate degree may register under their own signature for arts and sciences courses in the graduate schools, except the Graduate School of Education. (See below)

GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Students applying for courses in the Graduate School of Education are required to submit their registration forms with supporting documentation describing their educational background and reasons for taking the course(s), by mail or in person to the Associate Dean, Graduate School of Education, 10 Seminary Place, New Brunswick, NJ, 08901-1183. Registration and bill payment must be completed within the prescribed dates in the Summer Session Calendar. Students who took Graduate School of Education courses in prior summers are excused from above approval requirements.

High school students with an above average academic record who have completed the tenth or eleventh grade by June 2000 may register for many of the introductory level courses in the 2000 Summer Session.
