Welcome

RUTGERS-NEW BRUNSWICK SUMMER SESSION 2000

Dear Summer Session Student:

Welcome to the Rutgers-New Brunswick Summer Session. We hope you have a challenging and academically rewarding experience. Outside the classroom there are many athletic, recreational, and social activities throughout the summer to help you kick back and relax.

During your time with us, should you encounter any problem, please call or better yet, stop by our office. "How may we help you" has become our motto. It is our mission to help resolve any difficulties you may experience. Feel free to fax a letter to us at any time. Also, our answering machine is on after hours. We want you to be happy, have an enjoyable time, and see how friendly, caring and helpful the people are at Rutgers. We welcome your comments to help us improve our academic programs and services.

The pages that follow provide registration information and the courses offered this summer. You will find an encompassing, diversified curriculum with courses which will satisfy requirements, and courses for personal enrichment. Also being offered are Saturday morning classes, courses at the Freehold Colonial Campus on Rte. 9, and courses at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. We wish to call your attention to the Life Long Learning Credit where a portion of your tuition and fees are tax deductible. You will find further information about this on page 4.

Do not overlook the opportunity, which could be a once in a life time experience, to study abroad in Costa Rica, France, Kenya, Germany, Italy, or Spain. Last year's Study Tour of the American West, sponsored by the Geography Department, was a terrific learning experience, including the awesome sights, based on feedback from the students. You will camp out under the stars and study the geographical, geological, and environmental characteristics of several states. In addition to these Study Tours, we also offer a program, Coral Reefs of the Caribbean, sponsored by the Institute of Marine and Coastal Studies. See under each discipline and also in the section titled Special Programs and Courses for detailed information. In an attempt to facilitate your course selections, we have listed courses according to subject matter. We solicit your comments about this format.

Sincerely,
The Summer Session Staff
