Membership to Professional Societies
All students are required to apply for membership as soon as they begin their studies in the following toxicology societies:

Attending the meetings is an important part of the program curriculum, plus students have numerous opportunities to present their research to and interact with government and industry professionals as well as toxicology professors and graduate students from other programs.

Objectives of the Joint Graduate Program in Toxicology

  • To offer an educational program leading to the M.S. and/or Ph.D. degrees in Toxicology.
  • To foster excellence in research in Toxicology within the participating universities.
  • To offer students a curriculum which provides a well-rounded, contemporary education in general toxicology, and the opportunity for in-depth studies in specialty areas of their choosing.
  • To make available research topics for the original thesis project which is a requirement for the degrees. It is essential that these topics should address significant mechanistic problems in modern toxicology and that they should be performed at the highest possible level of scientific excellence.
  • To achieve these aims in a collegial, multidisciplinary atmosphere which includes public health, occupational medicine, epidemiology, risk assessment and public policy.
