The Joint Graduate Program in Toxicology

Welcome to the home page of the Joint Graduate Program in Toxicology (JGPT); an inter-university, inter-departmental program designed to train students in the discipline of toxicology. The JGPT has as its primary mission the training of M.S. and Ph.D. candidates in Toxicology.

The JGPT was established in 1980 and is part of the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) partnership between Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (UMDNJ-RWJMS).

The curriculum has been developed to provide broad education in biology and chemistry which can be applied to the mechanistic study of the adverse effects of chemicals on biological systems. The research work is directed toward providing the educational and research experience expected of scholarly professionals in Toxicology.
