Practice: Quizzes and Trail

quiz 1: This is made up of photos with plants circled. Your job is to correctly identify the plant using the proper 4-letter code. There is a table with codes and common names. Keep in mind, there is at least one photo that shows a plant that is not on our list. Enter the word 'none' for these. Use all lower case for all answers. Good luck!

part    1    2    3    4

In quiz 2, there are just photographs, often showing a number of different plants. Your job is to determine IF any exotics are present, and if so, WHICH they are. There may be more none, one, or more than one.

A four-point practice trail has been laid out.  It's just off of Highway 202 in the Ramapo Reservation. Download these instructions and directions.

Look-out for hidden treasure!

At one point on the practice trail, we have placed a 'geocache'.  Geocaching is a GPS hide-and-seek game.

When you find the cache, sign and date the log. Take a coupon and enter the number below to be included in the drawing. Be sure to replace the cache just as you found it.

For Non-Volunteers: You can still be in the drawing if we get your information on time and if you tell us how you happened to find the cache:
