Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in Math., Science, & Engineering

Program name and description:     Douglass College Summer Science Research Stipend Program offers support to Douglass College students who are doing summer research at laboratories at Rutgers University. The program has been administered by the Douglass Project since 1991. Funds are provided primarily through the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College and other corporate sponsors. We offer stipends of $1,500 and ask faculty to match with at least $500.

Any Douglass College student who is planning to do summer research in math, science, or engineering may apply. Applications are reviewed for academic standing, quality of proposal, and recommendations. Students can consult Faculty Personnel Directory at Douglass Project to identify interested faculty.

Student products:    

Outcomes vary by laboratory. Students have made presentations at professional meetings and have been cited as authors on papers. We require a brief paper describing the research experience and a presentation at the Douglass Project Poster Presentation Session.
