Program name and description:     FAS English Honors Program. Six credits of writing a senior thesis with a faculty advisor.  One honors section of either 350:225, 226, 227 or 228, and two additional writing intensive courses.

Participants:   

All students must have average in major of 3.4 and college average of at least 3.0. Students should apply in their sophomore year.  Total number of students in program is about two per cent of 1500 majors.

Student products:    

Students complete senior honors thesis, an original essay of forty pages. In addition, there is an honors symposium at which students present their work to their peers, parents, and other faculty advisors..
