Program name and description: Project L/EARN. Summer internship program that provides hands-on experience in health and mental health research, under the guidance of a distinguished faculty scholar. Interns are matched with faculty whose research is most closely aligned with students' particular interests, skills, and background. Daily workshops provide technical and theoretical training in research methods, study design, data management, and statistical analysis. Students receive room-and-board and a $3000 stipend during the ten-week program. Students planning a career in health research or in the social and behavioral sciences are especially encouraged to seek information about this program.

Participants:
Undergraduates from groups that are traditionally under-represented in graduate education: African-American, Latino, Native American, Native Alaskan and Pacific Islanders. Applicants must have completed or be currently enrolled in a research methods or statistics course.
