Program name and description:     The Henry Rutgers Scholars Program. Offers Rutgers College seniors an opportunity to conduct original, graduate-level research on a topic of their choice within their major. Each Henry Rutgers Scholar works with a faculty advisor on a two-semester, 12-credit independent research project, which culminates in a written thesis and an oral defense of that thesis before a faculty committee.

Applicants must be Rutgers College seniors with cumulative and major averages of 3.4; applicants must submit a proposal to the Office of the Dean during the first week of the fall term.

Student products:    

The usual outcome is an oral defense and a written thesis.
