Program name and description:     University College General Honors Program. The program offers four or six seminars each year in a variety of academic disciplines ranging from the natural sciences to social sciences to the humanities and are often interdisciplinary in nature. Most involve student papers or oral presentations.

Participants:    University College students who have a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.2 and have completed at least 12 credits are eligible to take the honors seminars. To become a full member of the General Honors Program, a student must have a 3.4 average or above and submit an application along with a written, graded assignment to the Honors Committee. To complete the program, students are required to complete three 3-credit honors seminars; complete a 3 to 6 credit honors project or thesis under the direction of a departmental faculty member; and maintain a G.P.A. of 3.4 or above.
