Grading
Your final grade will reflect
collective performance during the entire semester.
There are a total
of 400 points (see below for
breakdown). Hourly exams will comprise 50% of the
final grade. There will be three
hourly exams with the lowest
score dropped. The final exam will be cumulative
and comprise the remaining 50% of the final grade. The hourly and final exams will be
comprised of multiple choice questions.

Scaling
Grades are scaled based on the relative
performance of students to
each other.
1. Raw scores on evaluation instruments will be normalized and rescaled (Scaled Points)
with a mean of 75% correct with the highest
score receiving 100% of the possible
points on that particular
instrument.
2. Final grades will be based on the total number of Scaled Points
earned during the session.

Excused Absences
Absence from examination is
excused only for the following
reasons:
1. Illness verified by a doctor's note
2. Religious holiday recognized
by Rutgers University
3. Death
of an immediate family member
4. Required travel for varsity

Office Hours
Office hours will be held on Monday and Thursday mornings in my office, Doolittle
Labs, 102, from 10:45 to 11:45. I will also offer an office hour prior to
lecture and am available by appointment if you cannot make it during these
times.
