Thomas W. Scott, Ph.D
Professor of Entomology
University of California, Davis
Will present a seminar entitled "The Case for Dengue Control by Adaptive Disease Management" on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 11:30am - 1:00pm in the Jobbins Conference room, Headlee Research Labs.
Dr. Scott has worked extensively on dengue transmission and A. aegypti with the bulk of his research work conducted in Peru and Thailand. He has current projects ranging from genetic strategies in preventing disease transmission to developing strategies for improving control of adult mosquito vectors in households with innovative tools. He is also involved in developing a genetic probe for field-caught mosquitoes that can be applied to assess a mosquito population's potential for west Nile virus transmission.
Directions to Headlee Labs can be found here.
