Tutorial on downloading the 35 Portis-esque articles [ A tutorial for downloading 35 Portis-esque articles, for non-commercial use on The Unofficial Charles Portis Website (http://charlesportis.cjb.net). ] **NOTE: This tutorial is for users with Windows, using Winzip. 1) Make sure you have a zipping/unzipping utility. One popular choice for Windows is Winzip, which can be obtained for free at www.winzip.com. 2) Left-click once on the link on the Unofficial Charles Portis website that reads "Download 35 Charles Portis-related articles." It is most likely blue and underlined. 3) A dialogue box titled "Save As" will pop up, asking you where you want to save portis.zip (the name of the .zip file containing the 35 articles). To the right of "Save in:" at the top of the box, you will see a drop down menu. Click on that once to highlight it, and then select "Desktop." Then click "Save." You have just saved portis.zip to your desktop. 4) Double click on portis.zip on your desktop. A "Winzip" dialogue box will pop up. Click on "I agree," then "Next," and then "Next" again. 5) The text "Select different folder" will appear in a button near the top of the Winzip box. Click on that button. 6) Under "Folders and disk drives:," click on "Desktop" and then click "OK." 7) Click on the button at the bottom of the Winzip box that reads "Unzip now." 8) You're done!
