Foran Hall Computer Classroom.

The ABC Computer Teaching Laboratory is a cooperative effort between the Animal Science and Biotechnology undergraduate programs and the Chang Science Library. The facility was built by Dr. Gerben Zylstra in 2000 with funding from the Reinvest in Rutgers Program and the Rutgers Student Computer Fund. Half of the computers are replaced every two years (four year duty cycle) through competitive funding from the Rutgers Student Computer Fund. The ABC Computer Teaching Laboratory currently contains 25 PC computers equipped with internet access and loaded with various software packages. All computers are tied together with TECH Commander hardware that allows slaving the student computers to the master computer, monitoring the student computers from the master computer, or transposing the screen of one computer onto all the others. A dedicated computer projector attached to the instructor computer allows display of computer functions during lectures. The computer laboratory is extensively used by the Chang Library for explanation of internet library resources and instruction in internet database searching. The Animal Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Plant Biology, and Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics undergraduate curricula use the computer room for formal classroom training. This facility is available for use by any group at Rutgers or in the state of New Jersey.
